G16 til Trondheim / Hødd

Etter storsiger mot Træff i 1. runde i NM, skal G16 til Trondheim for å møte Strindheim i 2. runde. Kampen går laurdag 3. mars.

Vårt lovande 16-årslag vann heile 9-1 mot Træff i 1. runde i NM. Trekninga er no gjort og neste motstandar for laget er Strindheim i 2. runde.

- One of the major enjoyments of cup competitions is the unpredictability of who you may face. Will it be a home or away match? Are they good? What formation do they play? Have we played them before? All these questions create an excitement within the team and club when it comes to NM Cupen.

- So when the news came through that we was to travel to Trondheim for a game, it served as a good opportunity to use this as a team building exercise and we will prepare for the game properly. This involves some great work from Kai and Melinda, our two team leaders who are working hard to organise the travel to Trondheim Friday and the hotel accommodation for the Friday evening, preparing us as best as possible for the game.

- For our teams preparation, we go into the game and play to our strengths. Knowing very little about Strindheim, we felt that we have some major strengths as a team after the Træff game and we want to use those against Strindheim and to advance the next round. We encountered one particular issue against Træff and that is our focus for next week leading up to the match Saturday.

- We look forward to the game, and feel we have a good opportunity to advance to the 3rd qualification round. The draw could have been much tougher when there are teams such as Molde and Rosenborg in the pot, but we must give respect to Strindheim and we know they will be a tough opponent.

- The one thing I will always ask from my players... work harder than the other team! Do not ever leave the pitch wondering if you could give more or if you could have worked a little harder! All I can ask from my players is to work as hard as they possibly can for each other and for the club. If they do that, we have a great chance to go far in the cup!
